In middle school—my favorite—I hoped to be THE class clown but ended up as the class nerd. In college I studied international relations and then worked for a magazine in New York before a career in the financial industry. Afterward, I became a writer for grades 6–8 English language arts and social studies educational material. For fun, I pursued writing fiction that ended up as middle-grade novels.
